When it first came out back in 2008, I was in love with the Audi A5. Unfortunately, until a couple of days ago, I didn’t have a chance to drive it. To be honest, I didn’t spend much time with it, only a half an hour or so, but I couldn’t resist so I took my equipment and made a couple of photos for my website.
I know that the A5 is a coupe, but still, I was surprised how low you sit it. This is the Sportback edition (this particular car had the 2.0 TDI engine), and I think it is a nice “sedan/coupe” car.
When I talk about the look, it doesn’t make me smile like the first edition did. That was the first car I liked that Audi made, and this one… I don’t know, it just isn’t anything special.
Let’s take a moment and talk about it. The car doesn’t look bad, but Audi does the same thing that BMW does, and what Mercedes started doing. Their cars are ALL THE SAME. I can’t say which is the A3 or the A4, which is the 5 series of the 7 series, or from Mercedes, which is C or E class. That doesn’t mean that those cars look bad, they just look boring because they are all same (cars within one manufacturer).
Overall, I’m glad my friend gave me an opportunity to photograph the A5 Sportback since I don’t test cars anymore…
