After 11 consecutive titles, GNK Dinamo Zagreb handed the trophy to the HNK Rijeka who deserved it. In 36 matches, Rijeka won 27, tied 11 and lost only 2 matches. After nine long years, HNK Hajduk Split has beaten GNK Dinamo Zagreb on their own stadium, and if that wasn't enough, that victory helped Rijeka (who is currently first in the championship) to have one hand on the championship title.
