The new project worth 210 million of kunas on the Marshal Tito Square - the new Music academy. More than 10 years have passed from the original idea and design and 6 years of building it. It's a home for 150 permanently employed and around 550 students. (more…)...

Once a successful factory, today only a ruin and a shelter for homeless which doesn’t belong in the center of the city

The textile factory Nada Dimic belongs to the important part of Zagreb’s industry heritage. In the beginning, this building was a home of the Penkala factory. The project studio Honigsberg i Deutsch made the sketch of the original building (1910), and Zagreb’s architect Rudolf Lubynski projected the third floor and changed the outside elements. Today we can see those elements even though this building is abandoned for ages and partially destroyed. A part of the building, which is a cultural monument, collapsed in the 2007 and today is only a home for a couple of homeless people. The textile factory got its name by Nada Dimic who was a participant in the National Liberation Struggle and a Yugoslavian national hero. (more…)...

This old house is looks like a symbol of a fight between old and modern architecture which is taking over Zagreb

Year by year, Zagreb changes its face and many old buildings and houses are slowly disappearing. They are disappearing because we need more space to build new and modern buildings. This small house is still resisting and fighting against the modern lifestyle. It’s probably a matter of time when this house will also disappear, until then, it represents the struggle against forgetting and ignoring the past. (more…)...
